VACCINE TO IMMUNISE HUMANS MAY BE AVAILABLE SOON Received 11 p.m. NEW YORK, Jan. 18 / Doctor Frank Gollan, University of Minnesota, a scientist, reported today he had developed the first pure strain of the "virus that causes infantile paralysis. Dr. Gollan said that although virus developed attacks only on animals the methods used to isolate it were applicable to all strains of polio, and it was now only a technical problem as to how soon there was a vaccine to immunise humans.
