SURGEONS’ CONFERENCE IN DUNEDIN

WANGANUI MILL BE REPRESENTED (P.A.) AucklariU" Jan. 18. Surgeons from all parts of Australia and New Zealand wduld attend lhe 21st annual conference of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons, which would begin at Dunedin on Wednesday, said the secretary of the conference, Mr. H. G.. Wheeler, of Melbourne, who arrived .by flyingboat. Mr. Wheeler was- accompanied by Dr. A. W. Hailes, ofi'Melbourne, chief examiner of the College. Mr. Wheeler said thdt IWters discussed would be purely scientific. The president was Professor F. Gordon Bell, of Dunedin. The only public meeting would be the Syme Oration, called after the founder of the College, Sir George Syme/‘lvhich would be given by Sir Hugh Cairns, noted brain surgeon, on Thursday. Examinations for fellowship of the Collegq would begin on Thursday. There Were already over 170 fellows, and further candidates would come forward this year. Wanganui will be represented at the conference by Drs. G. H. Robertson, J. Boyd and I. Wilson. Some other Wanganui doctors may also attend.
