Delamar) warmly welcomed the new members who had been elected.—Councillors Fields, T. G. McCullough and P. Mareikura—and expressed the hope that they would find the work interesting. The speaker mentioned that he was very disappointed at the very small number of electors who had registered their votes at the elections and hoped that this was not a sign that they were not Interested in the work of the council. His worship then made the necessary declaration, as required by the Municipal Corporations Act, and was then followed in turn by the new councillors. The election of deputy-Mayor was tabulated.
