At the close of the second round of the women’s national golf championships, which are being played at St. Andrew’s course, Hamilton, only five of the eight seeded piayer s remain in. They are th e holder of the title (Miss J. Horwell), Miss Z. Hudson, Mis s F. Wilkinson, Miss M. Stevens, and Mrs H. J. Topliss. The big surprise ot the dav was the defeat of Mrs Hollis by her clubmate, Mrs P. Andrew. Mrs Hollis was two up at the turn, but Mrs Andrews approaching and putting were better, over the final half.
