BROTHER TO FINDON IS JUMPING PROSPECT
A likely type of hunter seen out at Awapuni on Saturday was Grey Morn, a brother to Findon. If this fine looking grey gelding remains sound he is going to have a let to say in the Hunt Cups in the next few weeks. Winner of the Ferguson Gold Cup Steeples in the spring, Grey Morn has been off the scene since New Year, hut he stripped a mass of solid condition and his owner-trainer, L. C. Breakwell, is certainly not one of the moderns who have to depend upon racing horses into form. It was obvious that Grey Morn had done a lot of hunting and jumping, and his fencing all through the race was sound. Grey Morn responded quickly when called upon about six furlongs from home and the Kincardine gelding jumped into a clear lead at the half-mile. However, the more seasoned Lanoma was always within striking distance and was able to wear down the grey in the run home. Nevertheless, Grey Morn should be a better horse at Marton.
