BOWLING CLUB ANNUAL MEETING (0.C.) Waverley. July 23 At the annual general meeting of members of the Waverley Bowling Club a minute’s silence was observed in respect to the late Mr. T. Foley, who was an old member of the club. The president (Mr. G. Aiken), in his report, reviewed the past year's activities. He said that this yeai- is the jubilee year and marks a milestone in the club’s history. The jubilee tournament, which was held just before the close of the season this year, was a great success and brought bowlers from as far away as Ohakune. He also said the finances of the club, as the secretary’s statement of receipts and expenditure showed, were in a healthy position. Visits made during the last season were back to pre-war footing and much appreciated by members. Mr. Aiken thanked members for their parts in arranging tournaments and especially the ones that gave up their games in the jubilee tournament. He alsc thanked the secretary (Mr. R. Parkes), the greens committee, under Mr. A. E. Castle, the selector (Mr. J. Pepper), and the members of the committee.
Officers elected for the coming season are: President, Mr. G. Aiken (reelected); vice-president, Mr. R. E. McGregor; secretary-treasurer, Mr. R. Parkes; sole selector, Mr. E. Morgan; auditor, Mr. R. E. McGregor; committee, Messrs. F. J. Bilton, R. Howie, E. C. Dallison, W. Heglnbotham, G. Baskin; greens committee, Messrs. A. E. Castle, F. Parkinson, E. A. Aiken.
