MR. W. J. ROGERS’ TERM AS M.L.C. EXPIRES SOON

Mr. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C.. Mayor of Wanganui, will complete his term of seven years as a member of the Legislative Council at midnight on July 14. Mr Ragers is eligible for re-elec-tion for a further term of office. Eligibility for membership of the Legislative Council is the same as that tor membership of Parliament but a man cannot be a mcmbci of both Houses nt the one time. Prior to 1941 women were not eligible for appointment to the Legislative Council, but this restriction was removed by the Statutes Amendment Act of 1941.
