Constable G. Tomlinson has been transferred from Wairca to take charge of the Castlecliff Police Station, now situated in Karaka Street. Mr. A. R. Laird, chairman of the Westmere Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., was elected, at a ward conference of the N.Z. Dairy Board in Wanganui last night, to represent the ward on the Dominion Council of the board. Mr. G. W. Sampson was re-elected chairman of the No. 8 District Highways Council in Wanganui yesterday. Messrs W. G. Belton (Palea Country) and A. H. Collins'(Wanganui County) were re-elected to the executive. Mr. W. Doole (Taihape), Rangitikei County representative on the No. 8 District Highways Council, was unable to attend the annual meeting in Wanganui yesterday because of illness. The council expressed sympathy and the hope that Mr. Doole would soon recover.
