ST. PAUL’S WOMEN’S FRIENDSHIP CLUB
Members and friends spent a very happy evening in St. Paul’s Hall on Wednesday last, and after the president, Miss Galloway, cordially welcomed all present, Mrs, Shepherd led the devotions. The programme was as follows: pianofore soles, Miss Myrtle Ruebe; Scotch songs, Mrs. Neilson; elocutionary items, Mrs. Payne and the well deserved encores indicated how much the audience appreciated each assisting artist. Tongue-twisters conducted by Mrs. Ryan caused much amusement.
Competition results: Best bloom. Miss HaaSe 1, Mrs. Smellie 2, Miss Galloway 3. Best sand tray, Mrs. Robertson 1, Miss Dowsett 2, Mrs. MacPherson 3. The door hostesses were Mesdames C. E. Ross and G. Ross and supper was served by Mesdames Gerrie and R. D. Stewart, assisted by Miss Haase. The singing of “Auld Lang Syne" brought the evening to a close.
