WANGANUI MAN SENT TO GAOL FOR THE CONVERSION OF A CAR
(0.C.) Palmerston N., May 5. Robert Bernard Howe, motor driver, of Harrison Street, Wanganui, was sent to gaol for three months by Mr. C. Marsack, S.M., on a charge of unlawful conversion of a motor-car valued al £6OO, the property of A. G. King, Wanganui. Senior-Sergeant Audley stated that Howe drove with another man from Wanganui to Palmerston North in a rental car. On arrival at Palmerston North the driver had left the car for a moment but had given the keys to accused, who said he wanted to get fish and chips. The accused had not returned with the car. He latei was apprehended at Woodville. He had been before the Court on several previous occasions. Howe was further charged with assaulting Patrick Barry, Auckland. He was remanded .to AuekJano.
