WANGANUI KNOCK-OUT COMPETITION In the knock-out competition played on the Wanganui East showgrounds on Saturday, City emerged the winnr.; in the first League competition piayed in Wanganui for 32 years. In the first game City defeated Eastern Suburbs 8-0. For City, Fyfe and Boyd each scored a try. while R. Davis converted once. Eastern Suburbs displayed a newness to the code, but after a tew games should develop into a formidable combination. Aramoho in defeating Gonville. after extra time had to be played, 3-0, gave every indicatnon of developing into a first-class side. Their victory over an experienced team as Gonville came ns a surprise. The only try o£ the match was scored by Tasker, Downes failing to convert. In the final of the competition City defeated Aramoho 8-5. For City tries were scored by R. Morrison and lyfe, R. Morrison converting one try. For Aramoho Hore scored and Downes converted. Draw for Next Saturday. The draw for next Saturday is as .oilow:—1.30 p.m., Ara.-ioho v. Eastern Suburbs; 3 p.m.. Gosvilie v. City.
