MORE STATE HOUSE FOR MARTON

(0.C.) Marton, March M. A State housing settlement, whirfl, when finished, will be one of the largest in Marton, is being planned for vacant sections along Ahuru Street, off Station Road. It is understood the Housing Department plans to build 40 houses on three sections, the combined area of which totals about eight acres. Plans for the sections, together with Gazette notices stating that it is proposed to take the land for housing purposes, are displayed at the Marton Post Office. Contracts have already been let for a block of four houses on a section on the corner of Lambert Street and Broadway, and it is likely that 12 more houses will be built on land already held by the State Advances Corporation in Beaven Street. When all are completed they should go a long way toward solving Marton’s acute housing shortage. '
