Under ideal weather conditions on Saturday a party from the Feilding Bowling Club paid the annual visit to the Wanganui Bowling Club’s green, and the Gonville Club entertained Marton visitors. WANGANUI CLUB On Saturday eight rinks representing the Wanganui Bowling Club visited Feilding to play the annual games with the Feilding Bowling Club. The _ gather was ideal and the greens •vere very fast. Morning and afternoon games were played. In the following results the names of the Feilding players are mentioned first; — Morning games. Totals: Gonville 195, Marton 143. ST. JOHN’S CLUB GALA DAY

There was a satisfactory attendance at the St. John’s greens on Saturday on the occasion of the annual gala day. An ail-day tournament was piayed and resulted in a popular win tor Frank Moffatt’s team. Driving and drawing competitions were held at intervals. Other competitions were well patronised, as was the produce stall, under Mrs. Joe Glover’s supervision.

There was a £ood attendance of ladies and, under the supervision oi' Mrs. C. P. Bates, they provided an excellent afternoon tea and assisted generally in achieving the object of the <ala day, to augment the building fund.

The weather was excellent, the greens keen and all seemed to enjoy themselves thoroughly. The president Mr. C. P. Bates, thanked members for their assistance, whether by generous donations or small ones, or giving their time in providing means of achieving the objective. Following are the teams that took part in the tournament of five rounds: Williams, Goldsack, Davidson, Herd (replaced by Green later); Dymock, Glenny, Buckman, Caird; R. H. Tizard, Congreve, Rickard, F. Pepper; Kaywood, Hamilton, Garrick, Michie; Hicks, F. Bates, C. Downey, C. S. Brown; A. Brown, W. J. Brown, Robertson, Baxter; J. Robertson, Emmerson, Olsen, Wight; R. V. Brown, Suddaby, C. P. Bates, Shaw; Elliott, Keating, Ellis, Johnson; Watts, Greager, Ashwell, McPhail; Soughton, Henrickson, Ginn. Moffatt; Bridges, Gibbard, F. Haywood, Glover; Adams, Dann, Hunger, Weenink; Phelan, Burke, Lints, Aiken.

The teams skipped by Wight, Johnson and Moffatt tied with four wins and one loss. In the play-off Moffatt beat Johnson and in the final Moffatt beat Wight, the winning team being Soughton and Henrickson (visitors), Ginn and Moffatt.
