W. McKEE WINS DOUBLE RISE CHAMPIONSHIPS

The monthly shoot of the Wanganui Gun Club was held recently and was attended by a fair number of marksmen who participated in a very enjoyable afternoon’s sport. The weather was perfect and several possibles were secured. Further matches were held after refreshments, and all members voted that the afternoon had been an enjoyable one. The result of the Double Rise Championship was a win for W. McKee, and W- Moffett was runner-up. Other placings were won by, I. Brice, J. McMullen, C. Lound, I. McDonald, W. McKee. At the general meeting held last week, it was decided—owing to the ever-increasing cost of ammunition, and the poor standard of the ammunition supplied—this, allied with the fact that clay birds were almost unprocurable, that two-monthly shoots would be held instead of monthly shoots. The next match is to be held in April.
