SUCCESSFUL ARAMOHO SHOW
The second annual Aramoho flower, vegetable and home industries show was held in the Methodist Church Hall on Saturday. In spite of unseasonable weather the week previously, entries were fairly numerous in both flower and vegetable sections. All entries were of a particularly high standard. The judges especially mentioned the high class of work attained in the home industries section, while the large vegetable section drew high praise. The hall where the entries were on view was visited by a large number of entrants and others interested in the show. Throughout the afternoon competitions were held on the lawn, where afternoon tea and ice creams were served. Judges for the various sections, who gave willingly of their valuable services, were: Flower, vegetable and floral decorative, Mr. P. Cox; needlework and knitting, Miss S. Ashmore; home industries, Mrs. F. Reid; children’s fancy decorative, Miss R. Jones. At 4 p.m. results were announced, and the various points prizes distributed. Results were as follows: First points prize for most points in show: Mrs. H. Gedye. Second points prize: W. Pepper. Cut flowers: Mrs. H. Gedye 1, W. Pepper 2. Floral decorative: Mrs. H. Gedye 1. Miss B. Humphrey 2. Vegetables: Mrs. H. Gedye 1, W.,T. Benefield 2. Needlework: Miss A. Gilmour 1, Miss I. Suddaby 2. Knitting: Mrs. J. P. Whitlock, Miss D. Menzies and Mrs. S. Heath 1 equal. Home industries: Mrs. M. J. Harris 1, Mrs. H. E. Bassett 2. Children’s: Judith Gedye 1, Valmai Gedye 2.
