WANGANUI DISTRICT SETS NEW RECORD FOR NATIONAL SAVINGS
New records in National Savings are being made in the Wanganui district in that for the first time i since the inceptioh of National Savings every quota office has attained its respective annual quota. Wangaiyii is the first district in the North slland to do so. With total investments of £222,210, the district will go very close to doubling its annual quota of £123,760 by the end of the campaign year on March 31. Several offices within the district, namely Wanganui City, Aramoho, Ohingaiti, Patea and Taihape, are very close to doubling their respective quotas, whilst Mangaweka has already doubled and Waverley trebled their annual quotas. National Savings groups formed in various firms, factories and Government departments throughout the Dominion have shown phenomenal growth during the last ten months. Approximately 7500 new group accounts out of 11.000 accounts have been opened within that period,
Wanganui district has been responsible for more than 340 group accounts, and Vie average daily growth at present within the district is three to four new accounts. Many executives of firms are co-operating wholeheartedlv and doing all they can to foster this method of saving among their employees, helping them to buila up a nest egg which will inevitably assist, in the spirit of closer employeremployee relationship.
