WHIRLWIND SMASHES TOWN, LEVELS A MILITARY CAMP

Reed. 10 p.m. Sydney, Jan. 30 A whirlwind which smashed Narellan township and wrecked Ingleburn military camp, was caused when two revolving storms met over the town. Residents saw a black storm move in from one direction, and simultaneously felt a violent gale blowing. The total damage is estimated at more than £50,000. Practically every building in Narellan bears the marks of the storms, which carried large pieces of wreckage over half a mile.
