OHAKUNE’S PICTURESQUE CAMPING GROUND PROVES VERY POPULAR

(0.C.) Ohakune, Jan. 21. The picturesquely situated camping site at Ohakune was popular during the holiday period. Tents and caravans were set up in fairly large numbers, particularly at. Christmas. The scenic reserve adjacent to the camp site is considered to be in good order. Attractive gardens have now been formed, small tree ferns being numerous in them. Recognition of the work of Mr. F. Tocker, who has been responsible for the transformation, was made at the last meeting of the Ohakune Domain Board, when it. was mentioned that Mr. Tocker had provided most of the plants from hjs own garden. The board then decided to provide an\ further plants required, and to send Mr. Crocker a letter of appreciation.
