OHAKUNE HAS NEW BOWLING PAVILION BEING BUILT

(0.C.) Ohakune, Jan. 21 FollovCing the receipt of a building permit for the Ohakune Bowling Club’s new pavilion, operations by a number ol voluntary workers on the building begen during the holidays. The club applied for a permit some time ago, but it was refused. Piles and foundations had been laid when it became necessary to stop work. The new building will be inexpensive to construct, it is stated, for materials from the old pavilion, now considered obsolete, will be used, and all the labour will be voluntary. The building will include an indoor kitchen and room for afternoon teas. There will also be a committee meeting room and locker roCTn. The main room, which will be a feature of the building, will have large windows at the front and will be used for indoor bowls during the winter. The building is to be placed on the western side of the bowling green instead of the northern side, as at present. Good progress is being made.
