FINE RECORD OF WAIMARINO SILVER BAND

(0.C.) Ohakune, Nov. 6. Formed in 1909, the Waimarino Silver Band, Ohakune. has the proud record of not once being in recess during that period of 37 years. This is despite two world wars and two periods of depression. It has fulfilled every engagement it has been called on io perform. The oldest member of the combination is Mr. C. Perrj, who has been conductor for the past nine years. The personnel ol the band is enthusiastic and attends practices regularly. In ,ts ranks are several returned servicemen and when marching the band is noted for its military bearing and crisp playing. The band played a prominent pari in the recent golden jubilee celebrations of the Ohakune District High School and added much to the enjoyment of the occasion.
