HEAVY CLOUD, CONTINUOUS WIND, AND MUCH RAIN
STATISTICS FOR OCTOBER The rainfall for October, was 4.66 inches, falling on 19 days. Last year the fall was 5.26 inches falling on 18 days; and in 1944 it was 4.88 inches on 19 days. The average fall for October for the past 50 years, is 3.54 inches. The total rainfall to date this year is 3516 inches compared with last year's figures of 37.50 inches. In 1944 it was 28.27 inches and the average is ■1.93 inches. The cloud reported during October is the heaviest for any one month since February. 1937. 16) Six gales were recorded during October and only on six days was the wind light. With the heavy cloud, continuous wind, and many wet days, spring growth and agricultural work, has been badly held up.
