UNAUTHORISED TENANTS OUT OF STATE HOUSE

The action of the State Advances Corporation on Wednesday in securely locking the empty house it owns in Patapu Street, Wanganui East, effectively blocked the unorthodox tenancy of the four single ex-servicemen who had occupied a bedroom the previous night. Departmental action was taken while the men were away, and their bedding was locked up in the house.

They did not attempt, to get it on Wednesday night, and slept at then home next door. The men wer e given the loan of the key of the house yesterday so that they could retrieve their bedding, and the house will be taken over within the next few days by tenants selected by the department.
