HIGHER WAGES FOR DAIRY FARMERS

EFFECTIVE AS FROM AUGUST 1

( P-A.) Wellington, Oct. 31. Higher wages for agricultuial workers employed on dairy farms, to take effect on August 1, are prescribed in a wage fixation order, gazetted tonight.

The new wages, with existing ones in parentheses, are:

Under 17,11 17s (£1 15s) weekly. Seventeen and under 18, £2 7s 6d (£2 ss).

Eighteen and under 19, £2 18s (£2 15s).

Nineteen and under 20, £3 9s (£3 ss). Twenty and under 21, £3 19s 6d (£3 15s).

Twenty-one ond upwards, £4 10s (£4 ss). The allowance of £1 weekly where boara and lodging is not provided, remains unchanged.
