MR. FRASER SAYS LABOUR MUST GET ALL SUPPORTERS TO VOTE
IF NOT RETURNED MUCH WILL BE LOST . (P.A.) Wellington, Oct. 31. “If Labour is not returned to office all that we have done in 11 years can be undone in one night in Parliament,” said the Prime Minister, Mr. I Fraser, continuing his campaign for the Brooklyn' seat in the St. John’s Hall to-night The audience, which almost filled the hall, greeted him with enthusiastic applause and gave him an attentive hearing. There were no interjections, and a motion of confidence in Mr. Fraser and the Government was carried, with only one or two dissentients. “Don’t let anyone say Labour will get in, and that there is no need to worry/* said Mr. Fraser, asking for active support up to the night of November 27. “That is the way to defeat. We not only want to win; we want to win with bigger majorities than ever.” “The end of progress has not arrived. Sound foundation has been laid and we want to build on that a social, economic and democratic structure greater than anything we have yet achieved.” A member of the audience said there was as much misery and as many broken homes as ever, or even I more, because materialism was held i up as a goal all the time. I “Why don’t we teach people to believe that there is a God, and that we should serve Him?” he asked. Mr. Fraser said that surely the way Ito show belief in the principles of Christianity was to try to put them j into practice, and the Government l had done that. Its policy was to make ‘i| possible for every child to have a I chance of becoming the best type of man or woman, physically, mentally, • morally and spiritually.
