PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN’S MISSIONARY UNION CONFERENCE
DELEGATES SIT IN WANGANUI The Trinity Methodist Church, Wanganui, was filled with delegates and visitors who had come from all parts of New Zealand for the annual conference of the Presbyterian Women's Miss.onary Union, which opened yesterday morning, following a communion service of the General Assembly held in St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church. Mrs. T. A. Mac Gibbon, Dominion president of the P.W.M.U. presided and associated with her were Miss K. Evans (hon. secretary), Mrs. A. D. Wilkie hon. treasurer) and Miss A. E. Evans (minute secretary). A prayer and hymn preceded a short ceremony of welcome, Mrs. Mac Gibbon, in welcoming the delegates expressed the hope that the conference would be an inspiration to all and said that all the missionaries, past and present, and all deaconesses would be associated with the conference. She then introduced Mrs. A. L. Mouat, president of the P.A. who extended a warm welcome to the delegates and visitors, and with a special word of welcome to all the missionaries, saying that never had so many been together. Mrs. Mouat said she hoped the weather would be fine and all would have a pleasant stay in Wanganui. She spoke of the wonderful communion service they had attnded earlier in the morning and concluded her brief speech by saying "May God’s Blessing Be Ours.” Miss E. Houston, acting P.A. secretary, made the announcements concerning the catering and other arrangements. An adjournment was made for lunch at a few minutes to 12 o’clock. During the afternoon a prayer service was held, the leader being Miss F. Ogilvie.
