OPENING OF BOWLING CLUB. (0.C.) Waverley, Oct. 30. With a great crowd of visitors and fairly line weather the Waverley Bowling Club opened its season on Saturday. The visitors came from Wanganui and Wanganui East, Rapanui, Waitotara and Patea, and the green was a mass of colours against the pavilion and surrounding gardens. Mis. A. E. Miss Barbara Edwards was the guest of honour at a pre-wedding evening given her by the Waverley Table Tennis Club last Thursday. Mr Theo Holmes presented Miss Edwards with an occasional table, and wished her happiness on behalf of members. A delightful evening was spent playing ping-pong. PERSONAL. Miss Gladys Kelly. o£ the Dental Training School, Wellington, spent Labour week-end with her parents. Miss Joan Campbell, who is nursing at Hamilton, is home for a fortnight on sick leave.
