HON. A. McLAGAN RESIGNS FROM THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
(P.A.) Christchurch, Oct. 29 The resignation from the Legislative Council of the Hon. A. McLagan was announced to-day bv Mr. Fraser. Mr. McLagan will continue to holo his portfolio as Minister of National Service and will remain a member of the Executive Council. Mr. McLagan's resignation from the Legislative Council, to which he was appointed in 1942, is necessary to permit his nomination as the Labour Party's candidate for the Riecarton seat. Mr. McLagan has acted as Leader of the Council. He was appointed Minister of National Service in 1942.
