Totalisator turnovers of £112,020 last Saturday mid £113,855 lO.s on Labour Day. registered at the Wellington Racing Club’s meeting at Awapuni, provide new records for that course, but it. might be safe to venture the prediction that the aggregate of £225,875 10s may be exceeded during the current season. In few instances on Saturday was there much money shut out, and it appeared as if those responsible for totalisator arrangements had done their job well, for everything functioned smoothly. Thus, when there are better fields than were seen out for the meeting last week-end—in one race there were only four starters —it may bo that higher turnovers will be registered at Awapuni.
