WOMEN’S HOCKEY WIND-UP

SUCCESSFUL SEASON CONCLUDED The wind-up for the Women’s Hockey Association season was held at the Y.MC.A. on Wednesday last, at which there was a fair attendance, including Mrs. M. R. Simpson, president of the New Zealand Association. The evening was spent in community .singing and competitions, also a recitation on the season’s trips was given by Miss S. Green. After supper, which was served by executive members, Mr Hartnell spoke on the successful season just passed and complimented Technical Old Girls on winning the championship again this season, and Collegians on winning the seven-a-side tourney. He also mentioned the hopes of the association to hold the Dominion tournament in Wanganui next season, and what work this would entail. He requested any girl not intending to play next season to give assistance by umpiring, as the association is very short of these officials. He also complimented the secretary, Mrs. Cox, on her good work done during the season. Mrs. Hartnell (patroness) presented the Association Cup to Miss A. Liddell. captain, T.0.G., and the Sinclair Cup to Mrs. Wallis, captain of Collegians. The junior competition was won by Wangaehu B. but unfortunately the McGruer Cup has gone astray. If any person could give any information as to the locality of this cup the association would be grateful. ENGAGEMENTS Chard—Abraham.— Mr. and Mrs. R. W.
