WHETTON WINS SENIOR GOLF TITLE AT CASTLECLIFF TOURNEY
Playing on good greens in ideal weather, Leo Whetton won the senior championship of the Castlecliff golf tournament on Monday. Whetton carded 75 in the final match against A. D. Barber, including 13 bogeys and two birdies. Both finalists played sound golf, and Whetton’s card of two over par represented an outstanding recovery after he had taken six on a par four hole and played another shot out of bounds. After the tournament Mr. I. R. L. Brown welcomed competitors and congratulated the winners. Silence was observed as a tribute to Mr. J. Wilson senior, who died during the week-end. Mrs. F.
