FINED FOR HAVING LIGHTS IMPROPERLY ADJUSTED
a As a result of the Transport Department's check on the lighting of motor vehicles, several more Wanganui motorists were summonsed in the Wanganui Magistrate's Court yesterday. Mr. J. H. Salmon imposed fines on the following for driving vehicles with lights not properly adjusted:— Eleanor Pennington, £1: John Janies Papworth, 10s; Ben Hyde, £1; Walter Richmond Harding, 10s; William Henry Peapell, £1; Reginald Paterson, 10s; Ernest John Charles Perry, 10s; Piko Hawkins, 10s.
Harding was also fined £1 for driving the vehicle concerned, a jeep, without a warrant of fitness. For a breach ot the right-hand rule which resulted In his car becoming involved in a collision, Clyde Rohloff was fined £3 Milford Phittall, charged with driving a motor van in Nixon Street at a greater speed than 30 miles an hour, was fined £2, with 10s costs. Inspector J. H. Minnell, City Council traffic department, said that defendant was driving at 48 miles an hour.
