RAETIHI BALL SUCCESS

(0.C.) Raetihi, Oct. 6. Marked success,attended lite Waimarino National Party ball, held in the Druids' Hall, Raetihi, on Friday night. Vi-itors were present from Wellington. Nelson, Taumarunui, Taihape and Kaitieke. A zealous committee worked assiduously to see that everything went to schedule and the artistically-decor-ated hall won high commendation from all present. Highlight of the night was the warm welcome given the party candidate for Waimarino, Mr. N. R. Hill. Welcoming Mr. Hiil Mr. Evan McLean. deputy cltairriun of the Waimarino National Party, said the partyhad been fortunate in obtaining a man of Mr. Hill's ability to contest the Waintarino seat. A returned soldier, Mr. Hill was the possessor of an engaging personality ana he, Mr. McLean, was sure that Mr. Hill would top the poll on election day. Mr, Hill acknowledged the welcome and thanked the assembly for its sincere welcome. After the welcome, dancing was resumed. large was the crowd at the ball I hat f.tree supper sittings had to be arranged, a task that the supper committee was equal to. The music for the ball was supplied by the Starlight Serenaders. The M.C. was Mr. A. Scarrow.
