(P.A.) New Plymouth, Oct. 7. Convicted on 10 of 15 charges alleging obtaining money by false pretences, Charles Eric Hamerton, aged 44. single, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to be concurrent.

Hamerton canvassed many parts of the North Island selling space in calendars for what he termed a “Victory publications.” The calendar was never printed.
