BLOMFIELD BEATS SMALL WITH PENALTY FALL
(P.A.) Christchurch, Oct. 3. Lofty Blomfield, 16.9, beat Babe Small, 16.6, in one of the brightest wrestling bouts seen in Christchurch this year. The contest was marked by plenty of showmanship by Small, who early became unpopular. In the second round Small gained a fall wdth a half-Boston crab, followed by a step-over toehold. In the fifth round Small became involved in a mix-up with the referee, who awarded a penalty fall to Blomfield.
In the seventh round Blomfield gained the deciding fall with an octopus clamp.
