GENERAL MOTORS MANAGING DIRECTOR ON BUSINESS TRIP OVERSEAS

Mr. George C, Seers, managing director of General Motors, New Zealand Limited, left New Zealand early this month on an extended business trip to the United States, Canada, and Great Britain. His first: stop will be New York for conferences at the head office of General Motors Overseas Operations. Mr. Seers' itinerary will also include visits to the Chevrolet Motor Division and other manufacturing units of General Motors Corporation, both in Canada and the United States, where he will investigate the latest trends and modern practices in all branches of the automobile and allied industries. In England he will spend considerable time at Vauxhall Motors Limited

at. Luton, where he will see something of the motor industry's contribution to Britain's export drive. Mr. Seers will be accompanied by Mr. H. G. Lewis, treasurer of General Motors, New Zealand Limited, whose business will also involve extensive travelling and a similar itinerary. Control of the company’s activities in New Zealand has, for the period of Mr. Seers’ absence, been vested in the manager of the Vehicles Department, Mr. H. W. Gage, who has been appointed acting managing director.
