Mr. R. J. Kerridge, of Kerridge Theatre Ltd., is expected to return to New Zealand to-day, after a few days spent in Sydney following his arrival there from America.

Mr. P. H. Hamilton, who left New Zealand recently by air, has arrived in Malaya, where he will take up an appointment in the Mines Department of the British Colonial Service. He will be stationed at Ipoh.

Miss E. M. Getts, head of the New Zealand School of Physiotherapy, has been appointed honorary lecturer >n physiotherapy by the Council of the University of Otago. She succeeds Miss M. L. Roberts, who has retired.

Mr. D. H. Cockburn, of Queenstown, has announced his intention of landing as a candidate for the vacancy, as producers’ representative, on the Meat Board, caused by the impending retirement of Mr. James Begg. Mr. Cockburn is chairman of the Electoral Committee of the Meat Board, and is a past president of the Otago Provincial Council of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union.

The Rev. F. O. Ball, vicar of Island Bay, has been appointed vicar of Feilding in succession to the Ven. Archdeacon F. H. Petrie, who is retiring. Mr. Ball studied for law at. Canterbury College and then took an L.Th. at St. John’s College, Auckland. He was ordaihed in 1932 as curate in the parish of All Saints, Palmerston North, and before going to Island Bay was vicar of Martinhorough. Mr. Bail has just returned from serving as chaplain in the hospital ship Maunganui.
