Birmingham could manage only a three*all draw against Wolverhampton, and Charlton have taken the lead in the League South, in which the four leaders at present (each have played 38 games), are Charlton. Birmingham. Aston Villa and Derby County, with 57, 56, 54 and 50 points, respectively.

As a rehearsal for the cup final, to be played at Wembley next Saturday, the Charlton-Derby match, which drew 50,000 .spectators, proved disappointing. Roth sides were nursing their teams and omitted many of their star players.
