MARTON NOTES

AMBULANCE EXECUTIVES MEET ANNUAL PICNIC ARRANGED On Thursday evening the combined committees of the St. John Ambulance Brigade met to discuss the propored annual brigade picnic. It was decided to hold this event toward the end ol the month on Mr. J. G. Harris' property at Cliff Lire. The picnic will be open to members of the brigade and their friends, but to others a charge will be made to cover the transport which will be arranged at an early date. The combined committees will supply hot water and milk, but members will have to supply their own food, tea and sugar, in view of the rationing. An, attractive programme is to be arranged, with novelties and races for the youngest to the oldest, with plenty of ice-creams and drinks for the children. On the date of the picnic buses will leave the Victory Hall at 10 a.m. and will return at approximately 4.30 p.m. In the event of the weather being unsuitable an indoor programme, which has been arranged, will be held in the Victory Hall. During the war the annual brigade picnic was abandoned, but prior to this the brigade had held an annual outdoor day, which had proved very successful.
