ENTRIES A RECORD RECORD NUMBER OF SIDESHOWS One of the most interesting attraction.; ai. the Marton Sliow to-day will be the Marton Junction Women’s Institute bay, which is located in the cloak room on the members’ stand. There is a wonderful display of thrift articles, woollen and thrift rugs* novelty animal toys, sewing and art needlework, preserves, and a number of o.her interesting exhibits. There will be competitions for a thrift article, sponge cake (three eggs), and a baby’s knitted singlet, the prizes bcmg: first 10s, second ss, third 2s 6d, and post entries free. Don’t forget to patronise this exhibition and you will be pleased at the wonderful array of articles.
The vegetables display will be in the centre room under the main grandstand, where post entries will be received up till 10 o’clock this morning.
Favourable comments were made by the viJting exhibitors at the society’s action in increasing the first prize in all classes in the cattle section to £2 second 15s, and third bs, and they have shown their approval of some with an entry of 126 head of pedigree cattle. There will also be on exhibition a number of agricultural implements by C. H. Campbell, Ltd., including the David-Brown tractor by this firm, and Mr. G. Signal has also a good exhibition of agricultural machinery.
There is a record number of tideshows already on the ground, and include all tU'» latest ai-id most modern forms of entertainment.
The Scottish dance programme promises io be a great attraction for the evening, which commences at 7.30.
