QUALITY BLOOMS

WANGANUI HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY ANNUAL GLADIOLUS SHOW Quality blooms were on exhibition at the Wanganui Horticultural Society’s Gladiolus Show' which opened in Thain’s Building, Victoria Avenue, yesterday. While entries in some sections were limited because of the recent weather the blooms on show were striking in design and colour and won opmimendation from the large number who attended the fixture.

The champion bloom of the show, “Fritz's Masterpiece,” was exhibited by Mr. H. D. Hughes, of Normanby. He was also successful in the amateur and intermediate sections of the show. The honours in the open section went to G. Brogden, while Mrs. S. Benson exhibited the best bloom in the novice section. The show will be continued to-day and will conclude to-night.
