DENIES DISMISSAL
COMMODORE OF THE R.AJLF.'
Recd. 6 p.m. Melbourne, Jan. 9 Air Commodore A. H. Cobby denies he is to be discharged from the R.A.A.I.’. because of findings in the Barry report. “I am being demobilised like any other airman, because of the end ef the war,” he said. “I have received a letter from the Air Board, thanking me for my services during the war. My discharge is now six weeks overdue.”
Group Captain W. N. Gibson and Group Captain R. H. Simms, who have oeen asked by the Air Board to show cause why their appointments should not be terminated, will give evidence at the court-martial of Group Captain Clive Caldwell in Sydney next week. Simms has appealed against the decision of the Air Board to terminate his appointment. Caldwell faces charges of having sold liquor illegally on Morotai, where Simms was senior administrative officer and Gibson was senior air officer. J
