IT DEPENDS UPON THE PEOPLE THEMSELVES Recd. 6 p.m. London, Jan. 8. The Minister of State, Mr. Noel Baker, in a speech at a Government dinner in honour of the Greek delegation under Mr. Tsoud.eros. said:— “I have been told some Greeks still believe that armed force can settle the problems with which the country is confronted, and some believe in the struggle between the major Powers. Such talk is utter madness. The outside world, through UNRRA, already has given Greece great help, and is prepared to give still more, but the fate of the Greek people will be decided, not by the dollars and sterling they obtain, but by their own vitality,’ will power and patriotism.’
