MOOLTAN DUE TO-DAY

LARGE DRAFT RETURNING WANGANUI MEN THIS EVENING. Wanganui and district sailors, soldiers and airmen returning to New Zealand by the liner Mooltan are expected to arrive home by special train this evening. The ship, which is en route from the United Kingdom, will berth at Wellington this morning and after disembarking South Island personnel sails for Lyttelton. Four special trains, tnree to Auckland and one to Wanganui and Taranaki, will leave Wellington to-day. Manawatu, Marton, Wanganui and Taranaki men will travel by a special scheduled to depart from Wellington at 11.50 a.m. This train is due at Marton at 5 p.m. and is timed to leave again at 5.19. The arrival time at Aramoho is 6.47. A connecting tram tor Wanganui is scheduled to reach the city station at 7.9. One through special to Auckland will leave Wellington at 1.20 p.m. and another at 3.30. Their arrival times at Marton are 5.44 and 8.33 respectively. Main Trunk personnel, however, will travel by a special leaving Wellington at 4.15 p.m. It is timed to reach Marton at 8.55 and to depart at 9.7, arriving at Taihape at 10.51 and Ohakune at 12.57 the following mornnig. Representatives of the Wanganui City Council, R.S.A., Patriotic Committee and "other organisations will meet the men on tlieir arrival at the city station this evening. Transport will be available.

The Army authorities said yesterday that an immediate start would be made with medical boards. Two will be held to-morrow and another on Mondav morning. These boards will deal with only a few of the men returning by the Mooltan, but an early start is necessary because of the large number of men due back within the next two months.

Including the Mooltan, nine ships with service personnel on board will arrive at New Zealand between now and the end of February.
