ARMY COMMANDS
CHANGES GAZETTED (P.A.) Wellington, Dec. 19. Changes in the commands of the New Zealand regular forces, which were announced some time ago, have now been gazetted Major-General (Temp.-Lieutenant-General) E. Puttick relinquishes the appointments of General Officer Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, Chief of the General Staff, and first military member of the Army Board on December 31. Colonel (Temp.-Brigadier) N. W. McD. Weir relinquishes the appointments of Quarterrrfcister - General, Army Headquarters, and third military member of the Army Board, and is appointed Chief of the General Staff and first military member of the Army Board with the rank of major-general, as from January 1 next.
Lieutenant - Colonel (Temp.-Briga-dier) G. B. Parkinson is appointed Quartermaster-General. Army Headquarters, and third military member of the Army Board, irom January 1, when the temporary rank of brigadier becomes effective. Colone (Temp.-Brigadier) H. G. Clifton ceases to be seconded for duty as liaison officer with the United Kingdom and Australian organisations for the recovery of Allied prisoners of war and interned civilians, and is appointed the New Zealand army representative (temporary) on the joint Chiefs of Staff Organisation in Australia (British Commonwealth Occu-
