PETROL COUPONS FOR HOLIDAYS
(P.A.) Wellington, Dec. 4 Petrol coupons Nos. 6, 7 and 8 will be available for the months of Decmeber, January and February, announced the Minister of Supply, Mr. Sullivan, to-night. The Minister said he had recently been a k ked by the North and South island Motor Unions to increase the holiday period ration and extend the interchangeability of coupons. Unfortunately the stock and supply position were such that the holiday allowances were on the most generous scale possible. The ration could not be increased without risking the depletion of stocks in some centres. The supply position had not changed and the dollar problem was still a paramount factor in the situation. It was hoped, however, that the extended availability of coupons Nos. 6, 7 and 8 would facilitate holiday arrangements.
