TESTED AT BRISTOL
FIRST BRITISH POST-WAR PLANE London, Dec. 2 The first post-war British aircraft built entirely to a civil design was tested to-day at Bristol. It is the prototype of the similar structural models —the passenger Wayfarer and the [goods carrier Freighter. An official of the Bristol Aeroplane Company said that there are prospective customers in India South Africa, Brazil, and Jersey, as well as among air-line companies in Britain. An Indian prince plans to have one, and another plane will carry African labour to the gold mines. I The company has orders guaranteeing the sale of two years’ output—2ooo •planes. The Freighter is designed to [carry general cargo at Is per ton mile The passenger version, the Wayfarer is designed to carry passengers at 2id a mile.
