FIRST ELECTION IN 15 YEARS London, Dec. 2. It is election day In. Brazil to-day, the first for 15 years. Seven million people are voting for a new President and a new Parliament. MR. BERLE TO EXPLAIN. Washington, Dec. 2. President Truman has summoned Ambassador Adolph A. Berle from Brazil to explain charges of political intervention in the Brazilian presidential campaign, says the “New York Herald Tr.bune’s” correspondent. Mr. Berle made a speech on September 29 before the Brazilian Journalists’ Union, which diplomatic observers believe played a part in ousting exPresident Vargas. The White House and the State Department refrained from commenting on the incident because of the possible further effect on the campaign which ends to-day. However, State Department officials said Mr. Berle was expected in Washington in about three weeks.
