RAKANUI SUPPORTERS LOSE PLACE DIVIDEND
GgA-) Napier, Nov. 11 The Napier Park Racing Club’s spring meeting was held yesterday in fair weather with a gusty wind. 1 here was a good attendance ami the totalisa.or handled £43,503 10s making tb.e total lor the two days £80,806, compared with £63,743 10s last year. An unusual position cropped up in Ihe main event, the Waiohiki Stakes, when the third horse, Rakanui, weighed in over lib light and was disqualified. The fourth horse. Catterick Bridge, had failed to weigh in, so the stewards decided that the third horse dividends be paid on the place dividends of Ihe first |<ml second horses. I hose punters receiving a windfall which almost doubled their first announced dividends. Results are:--
