BULLS NOTES
R.S.A. QUEEN CARNIVAL (0.C.) Bulls, Nov. 6. Yesterday the Bulls District R.S.A. Queen Carnival was launched. The tour candidates were presented at a dance which was hela in> the Bulls Town Hall. The duration of the carnival is four months and in Bulls it is planned to have functions of one kind or another every week. Meetings held in Bulls in connection with the carnival have been well attended and a campaign which, it is hoped, will carry the Bulls candidate to a decisive victory, is being planned. On Thursday evening an executive committee meeting was held, Mr. J. H. Ellery presiding over an. attendance of 19.
Mr. M. Brookie reported that a ladies’ meeting held earlier in the week had been very well attended, there being 28 present. At this meeting Mrs. Brookie was elected chairwoman, Mrs. K. Allen secretary. Mrs. F. Cutts treasurer. The meeting decided to hold a card evening on Friday next. Mrs. Robins and Mrs. Huddleston were appointed conveners. A shop-day is to be held on December 3 and Mrs. Escott was appointed convener. At another meeting, held during the week, the younger set appointed Miss M. Hudleston is their chairwoman and Miss D. Neale secretary and treasurer.
Reporting on the meeting Miss Huddleston informed the committee of juniors’ intention to hold a social evening on November 12. Alter receiving these reports the chairman called for suggestions relating to the campaign. A discussion ensued resulting in many useful and original ideas coming forward.
