WENHAM CUP SECOND ROUND The second round for the Wenham Cup in the Wanganui indoor bowling series resulted as follows: Cosmos (McCracken) lost to Cosmo (Rogerson); A.O.F. (Loader) beat Power Board (Scott); Aramoho Druids (Thomson) beat A.O.F. (Haworth); Trinity <Tremain) beat Bishop (Glenny): Trinity (Healey) lost to Fire Brigade (Brown); Trinity (Mailman) lost to M.U. (Threadgold); Power Board (Hendra) lost to M.U. (Krk); M.U. (Wilson) beat Bishop (Turkington). The draw for the third round of the Wenharn Cup. to be played on or before Thursday, September 21. is:— A.O.F. (Loader) v. Power Board (Hendra); Bishop (Turkington) v. Trinity (Tremain); Trinity (Healey) v. Cosmo (Rogerson);' Aramoho Druids (Thomson) v. Trinity (Mailman); M.U. (Kirk) v. Fire Brigade (Brown); M.U (Wilson) v. M.U. (Threadgold). Home teams are mentioned first except in the case of the Fire Brigade. SIGNAL SHIELD A further challenge for the Signal Shield was played last Friday night, when the holders, Power Board (Hendra) met a challenge from Cosmo (McCracken). It was a game in which fortune favoured first one team and then the other till the 14th head, when the hoMers held the shot and led 14 to 12. From then onward the holders scored freely on every head and ran out winners by 29 to 15. The next challenge will be played tins week, when the holders will meet Trinity (Anderson).
